Well, as all of you know by now I will be traveling around the world and stopping at various ports around the world. DUH! The thing is, I have to keep myself busy while we are in port... I am trying to plan some trip to take while im in port - so here comes the plea - We will be porting in the following cities: Nassau, Bahamas San Juan, Puerto Rico Salvador, Brazil Cape Town, South Africa Port Louis, Mauritius Chennai, India Penang, Malaysia Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Hong Kong Shanghai, China Kobe, Japan Honolulu, Hawaii Puntarenas, Costa Rica Miami, Florida. If any of you have any experience in any of these cities would you mind emailing me and giving me input on things you thought were enjoyable/memorable/whatever... I would really appreciate it :)
Through the business that is preparing for next semester I have been thinking about what it is going to be like to come back to North America, come next May, after sailing around the world. I have been doing some research (if you can call it that) looking up videos of past SAS voyages and reading blogs of past SAS students. On pretty much everything I have read the students mention their sence of "culture shock" coming back to the states (and Canada for me) and just an overall change that has taken place within the student. Reading about their experiences makes me even more excited (and a little nervous too) for everything I am going to experience this coming semester. I know some apects will be fun (maybe even cruise-like) but some will be life changing - seeing the remenants of the apartheid movement that still exists in South Africa, helping disabled children in Vietnam, and seeing how utterly and amazingly blessed we are to live in North America.
As the preparations continue I will be sure to keep everyone posted. Things seem to be falling into place now - Visas are turned in, classes are being approved, and I am getting my immunizations on Wednesday... (don't worry I am taking a friend with me so I will have a hand to squeeze). Thank you to those who have been praying for me! It is greatly appreciated :)

hey cherbear. listen i will be in costa rica until this summer, so we should meet up when you are in port!
Cherie,
You need to get caught up on the net lingo. When you are writing a blog and have a request for information, you do not issue a 'plea.' Indeed, you put out a 'bleg.' That is, a beg for information on a blog.
Please adopt this usage from now on.
